Birdman Tweets About Lil Wayne Collaboration Album ‘Like Father Like Son 2: Tha Last Mob’

Birdman revealed the title of the upcoming release in his tweet, but left the record’s drop date, which has been pushed back several times, up to the imagination. “LikeFather LikeSon 2 Tha Last MOB. YMCMB,” Birdman wrote.
The two dropped hints about the album over the course of 2011, but projected release dates for the collaboration have come and gone several times. In an interview with Billboard in April, 2011, Birdman projected that the project would be out in December of last year, and originally the ‘Stuntin’ Like My Daddy’ co-creator hoped to get the record on shelves in time for Father’s Day in 2010.
The album was pushed back until Lil Wayne’s much anticipated, ‘Tha Carter IV,’ was complete, and Birdman indicated that the duo could scrap recording work they accomplished before Lil Wayne was sent to prison and hit the studio to record up to 20 new tracks for the album. “We have a lot of songs we did before (Wayne) went (to jail), and we’ve been working since he came home. All we’ve got to do is pick. And Wayne likes to be fresh with our music, so we might wait… and just knock out 20 songs right quick and put those on the album,” Birdman told Billboard.
The 2006 collaboration topped both the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart and the Rap Albums chart while it peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. Since its release the record has obtained Gold-certification, and the joint record earned positive reviews from critics shortly after it dropped.

Diddy`s Sean John Clothing Line Sued Over the Name of Empress Fragrance

Empress Hair Care filed a lawsuit againstDiddy’s company on January 10th in the United States District Court in the Southern District of New York. According to AllHipHop.com, a lawyer from Sean Jean contacted Empress in order to obtain permission to use the trademark in exchange for compensation, but the hair care company wasn`t interested. Diddy`s lawyers then tried to copyright Empress Sean Jean as a separate trademark but the application was refused.
In the lawsuit, Empress Hair Care argues that the similarity between the two names and the fact that Empress Sean John Perfume and Lotion is being marketed to the hair care company`s target audience represents unfair competition as well as copyright infringement.
According to the lawsuit which was posted on AHH, the company is looking to get an amount equal to three times the damages that Empress Hair Care allegedly suffered as a result of Diddy`s fragrance as well as profits obtained from the sale of Empress Sean Jean.
