If ever there was a way for Cheryl Cole to slap Simon Cowell around the face, metaphorically speaking of course, then this would be it.
The former X Factor star is apparently planning to perform her new single for the very first time on The Voice, the BBC’s rival singing contest to the X Factor – which is scheduled to appear on TV screens at the same time as the ITV show.
A source has revealed today:
“Cheryl should be releasing her single when The Voice is on TV so it makes sense to combine the two.”
“Cheryl’s manager Will.i.am is obviously a judge on the show so he’s already been talking to producers to get the ball rolling.
“The BBC are desperate to beat Cowell and BGT in the ratings and they know there’s no better way to do that than by getting Cheryl to perform her new single for the very first time live on the show.”

In fact it’s wondrous how she hasn’t aged in a decade, and over the weekend that naturally youthful face of hers made an appearance at the Australian Academy Awards in LA, along with a host of famous (naturally aging) faces.
The Aussie star smiled (or we should say attempted to) on the red carpet alongside Russell Crow, Liam Hemsworth, Geoffrey Rush and Meryl Streep (who’s not Australian but was there to pick up an award innit).
In fact it’s wondrous how she hasn’t aged in a decade, and over the weekend that naturally youthful face of hers made an appearance at the Australian Academy Awards in LA, along with a host of famous (naturally aging) faces.

Frankly, given how quickly celebrities tend to hop from one relationship to another, we’re surprised that Katy Perry hasn’t already remarried and had five children since her split from Russell Brand.
Mind you, if these latest rumours are true then maybe that possibility isn’t too far off. Apparently Katy has been “growing close” (that expression which means so little and yet insinuates so much) to her back up dancer Malik Le Nost (purely based on his name, he sounds like a winner).
Some cheeky source told a newspaper this weekend (probably while doing the nudge nudge, wink wink sign):
"In sound check on the day of the last show, the pair started falling about in fits of giggles over a private joke. It was as if they were a couple; Malik shot her cheeky winks across the stage and showered her with hugs. Katy was clearly loving the attention.”
Giggles and winks eh? Sounds like they’re in the flirting stage, we’ll give it two months before she’s marrying him on horseback in a cherry blossom orchard in Japan. No you’re right, more like one month.
Still no laydeeeeez on the scene for Russell Brand as yet though; he was spotted making his way to a film studio in LA over the weekend looking grumpy. Cheer up, she’s only at the giggles and winks stage!

And of course One Direction were only too happy to pose for photographs with the girls. Well, we say happy but away from the crowds Harry actually looked pretty glum as he chatted away on his mobile phone.

Lately it’s been rumoured that Jennifer Aniston has a bun in the oven, but if she does then we certainly couldn’t see the tiniest hint of a baby bump when she took to the red carpet for the Directors Guild Awards over in the US last night.
The former Friends star wore a skin tight little black dress for the occasion, which would make a bump pretty hard to hide indeed.
But let’s not rule the pregnancy rumours out though because otherwise we wouldn't be able to spend the next few months speculating about it, and as we all know life without speculation is dull.
Other celebs at this awards do last night consisted of a predictable crowd including George Clooney, Michelle Williams, Helen Mirren, Gary Oldman etc, etc, etc….

As she prepares to launch her solo career, Tulisa joined forces with a band last night – but just for a social outing.
The X Factor star was seen hand in hand with Saturdays bandmembers Rochelle and Vanessa yesterday as the trio headed to celeb haunts Nobu followed by Movida. Standard.
And speaking of Tulisa’s solo career by the way, The Star have claimed this weekend that it’s been “thrown into chaos” (they do like to ham these things up don’t they?) by her split from Fazer.
Apparently she’d been collaborating with him on most of the project but now that they’ve broken up, it’s made their working relationship quite difficult and therefore the album could be delayed for up to a year, which we find quite hard to believe. A source told them:
“Fazer was basically masterminding Tulisa’s whole album. He’s still planning to be involved but nowhere near to the extent he was supposed to be. The first single is done, which should still be out in the spring, but the chances are the album will be delayed now to later in the year.”
Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson reckons however that the two won’t stay apart for very long, so maybe the delay won’t be so significant after all. earlier this week she said: 'I think they'll definitely get back together – they are meant for each other.'
