Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has insisted that his team are happy being labelled underdogs in the Premier League title race.
The White Hart Lane side missed the chance to close the gap on the two Manchester sides at the weekend after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Bale told the Daily Mirror: "I don't think anyone expects us to win the Premier League.
"We're up there on merit and just enjoying our football. As long as we're doing that we'll hopefully keep picking up points and keep ourselves in contention at the end."
Spurs are now preparing for a key top of the league clash with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next weekend and Bale believes his side have a point to prove.
"It's the middle of the season but it will be a big game, of course, and one we're looking forward to," he added.
"There is no reason why we can't pull off a result there.
"City still have a great squad and a great team, and no matter what team they put out it will be difficult to play against. We know we have to play our best football to beat them, they gave us a lesson here at the start of the season.
"They started the season very well, which wasn't good for us, but we bounced back. It wasn't a great start to the season losing to the two Manchester clubs, but all the lads have shown what a great spirit we have here and the determination we have.
"We've come a long way since then.
"I'm sure it will be a great game, I'm sure it will be close and one we're looking forward to win."
