Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu is confident that Pep Guardiola will not leave the club at the end of the season.

The 41-year-old coach's current deal expires at the end of the summer and he has been non-committal whenever asked if he wants to extend his stay at Camp Nou.

Bartomeu gave a strong indication that Guardiola is interested in a new deal and labeled the coach as the best in the game.

"We would like him to renew for many more years," Bartomeu told Sport. "He is the best coach in the world and he has not stopped making history since he arrived.

"Personally, I think that Guardiola's story with Barca is not yet over."

Guardiola has helped the Catalan giants win 13 titles, including three La Liga crowns and two Champions League trophies, since taking over the club's first team in 2008.
