Navio; the Embodiment of Focus and Persistence

When I first saw Navio with Klear Kut in 2000, I thought they were just a click of “spoilt” rich guys who just wanted to be like the guys they saw on TV. Of course I was much younger and Ugandan Hip hop was not an issue back then; so I can forgive myself for having held such a perception.
I even went on to think that they would never last or make any sense to the industry. I used to believe that the Ugandan music market was so thin; and would as such not allow to be stretched by Hip hop from “wanna be” chaps.
Oh how wrong I was! It is because of guys like Navio that Ugandan Hip hop has both a voice and a face! Even when Ugandan Hip hop still struggled, Navio gave every day of his life to that genre until such a time when Hip hop made sense, an aspect that has seen him gain local, regional and international recognition.
When I saw Navio’s One and Only playing on channel O and MTV Base almost at the same time, I realized what a combination of talent, focus and persistence can yield. For about twelve years now, Navio has shown both focus and persistence there by taking his game a notch higher.
He has done collabos like Stuttering with Fefe Dobson, Burn with Blu 3, Rakus with Peter Miles & Menshan, Tell Me with Michael Ross, Bad Man from Kamwokya with Bobi Wine and many more. And more recently, his one and only has left both fans and critics applauding his creativity and effort.

Missing You by Bebe Cool and Rema

Video Review: Missing You by Bebe Cool and Rema

It was a busy week with several musicians releasing new videos. One of the videos released in the week was Missing You by Gagamel founder also CEO Bebe Cool and new girl on the block, Rema also straight from Gagamel crew.
Missing You has what the fans are looking out for. It is a high quality video with the potential to be played on home, regional and continental media. I have always stated it on this platform that music fans have test for quality. They are looking out for quality videos. One of those high quality videos is Missing You.
Shot by Producer Don of Deddac Films together with iVizualz, Missing You comes with a lot to offer. Here is a look at the features that make it a great video.
Video venues: Missing You was shot from different spots. It begins from a lake with Rema singing from a moving boat. It further goes to a recreation centre with a swimming pool in the background and nice green scenery that brings more life.  Bebe Cool and Rema are then seen performing surrounded by flora. It really showcases the beauty of Africa. Such perfect venue choices put you in the mood to watch Missing You video.
The dress code: Here, both Bebe Cool and Rema get it right again.
The white fitting clothes bring out Rema clearly while her black dress is in one word stylish. Bebe Cool looks fine in his trademark tight jeans and shirts. At one time, he is dressed in both a red T-shirt and jean while at another moment; he is in a white shirt and jean.
The Act: Both Bebe Cool and Rema put up a great performance. It is a slow song and the two live to performance expectations. They get involved very well, giving the video a free-flow feeling.
Video shooting, colour and editing: Producer Don once again pulls it off. He has made a name throughout East Africa for producing high quality videos and trust me, he is not about to disappoint. The video has several close and clear shoots. The colour choice and editing are great. I commend both Deddac Films and iVizualz for a work well done.
It is such a nice video from Gagamel crew. Rating it out of 100 percent, how much do you give Missing You video?
