Valencia 0 Real Madrid 5: Ronaldo and Ozil come back

Valencia 0 Real Madrid 5: Ronaldo and Ozil

Imperious Real Madrid put Valencia to the sword on Sunday evening, their 5-0 win at Mestalla making a small indent on Barcelona's commanding La Liga lead.
Inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo, the defending champions led by five at the break, with the Portuguese star scoring twice.
Further strikes from Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria (two) had the shell-shocked home support heading for the exits or waving white handkerchiefs in the traditional Spanish show of displeasure.

Outstanding: Cristiano Ronaldo was to the fore, scoring twice and having a hand in the other goals
First, Mesut Ozil released Ronaldo down the left flank and he turned compatriot Ricardo Costa before finding Di Maria, who had ghosted in at the back post, to double the lead.

Moments later, Ronaldo burst onto Fabio Coentrao's through-pass and finished with his customary style at the near post.
On 41 minutes, Di Maria's cross was touched on by Ozil and there was Ronaldo again to finish across goal.
And four became five in first-half stoppage time when the brilliant Ozil picked out Di Maria, leaving the Argentine with an easy finish past bewildered goalkeeper Alves.
