And he announced at his unveiling during a press conference this afternoon that his salary will be going to help less-privileged youngsters in France.
He said: 'I won't receive any salary during my time at Paris Saint-Germain, my salary will go to a childrens' charity in Paris.
'That's one of the things we are very excited about and proud to do. It's something exciting and something I'm not sure has been done before.'
Beckham said he had not picked a suitable charity yet, and could not announce how much they would get, except to say it would be a 'huge sum'.
'It's something the guys will decide, but it's a very good figure,' Beckham said.

He said: 'My French? I haven't spoken it for quite a few years, since I was at school so I'm definitely going to have to brush up on it.
Beckham was also asked if he had been practising his language skills but conceded that his grasp of the French language stretched as far as one word.
'I am excited. It is something that we've been working on and talking about for quite a while and now it has finally happened.
'My wife and children will be staying in London because the kids are at school there. We are all very excited as a family.'
