Madonna scores biggest selling debut album of 2012 as MDNA tops the U.S. charts... but did she use sneaky means in bid for No.1?

She's already broken records in the U.K. with new album MDNA, and now Madonna has achieved similar success in the U.S.

The 53-year-old queen of pop's album MDNA sold an impressive 359,000 units, making it her eighth album to top the Billboard 200 albums chart. 

MDNA now holds the title for the highest selling debut of 2012 so far.

However, a new report suggests that the Material Girl resorted to some trickery in a bid to secure a number one spot on the Billboard charts, as her album wasn't sold the typical way.

Her label, Interscope, and Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, combined her latest album with ticket sales to her upcoming concert tour. 

For every ticket that was sold to one of her shows, buyers also received a copy of MDNA.

They had the option of downloading on iTunes for free or receiving a hard copy in the post. 

It isn't yet known how many album sales were directly attributed to concert ticket purchases. 

Her North American tour kicks of on August 28 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and wraps up in Atlanta, Georgia on November 17. 

As per the Ticketmaster website: 'Get MDNA' with your Ticket- Madonna is having a huge party and everyone’s invited.

'For every ticket purchased online, you’ll receive your choice of a digital or physical copy of Madonna’s new album MDNA. Prior to the album release on 3/26, you’ll receive an email from Ticketmaster with redemption instructions.'

This is not the first time such a trick has been tried, though other artists like Bon Jovi and Tom Petty were not as successful as the woman with blonde ambition. 

Madonna has already set a new record in the UK for the most number one albums by a solo singer.

In the US, however she'll need two more number ones to overtake Barbara Streisand who currently holds the record with nine number one albums.

With her 12th chart topping release, she beats Elvis Presley's former record of 11 in the UK album charts.

The album debuted in both the U.S. and UK on March 26 and has spawned the controversial single Girl Gone Wild as well as the Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. assisted Give Me All  Your Luvin'.

Beckham's bulge remains! David's H&M underwear advert is defended by Watchdog following complaints that it was 'offensive'

His underwear campaigns have proved popular with women around the world, and now David Beckham fans will be pleased to know that they're here to stay.

The 36-year-old footballer came under fire after his advertisement for H&M was criticised for being 'unsuitable for children to see,' on the television.

However, following an investigation, Watchdog have dismissed the claims and stated that Beckham's poses and facial expressions in the advert are 'mildly sexual at most.'

The detail of the LA Galaxy star's famous bulge was brought to attention recently after The Advertising Standards Authority received three separate complaints slamming it as 'irresponsible.'

In the various images, Beckham is seen showing off his slender physique and famous body art in his collection of underwear which includes loose and tight-fitting boxer shorts as well as Y-fronts.

According to the Daily Star, Watchdog cleared the advert of causing harm and offence under social responsibility guidelines.

'Aimed at an adult audience': H&M defended the advert saying that it represented the function and fit of the garments

'While we acknowledged that some viewers might consider the images distasteful, we concluded the ad was unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence,' they said.

Bosses of the high-street store obviously defended the advert too saying that it was designed to highlight the 'function and fit of the garment' and was aimed at an 'adult audience' of the ages 18-39.

Following the launch of the range in February, the father-of-four's toned body has proved popular once again with women on both side of the Atlantic.

But despite there being questions over the size of Beckham's bulge, the British footballer has always insisted that he hasn't had his manhood Photoshopped.

'I've never, ever done a James Corden and padded out my pants,' he said.

eath have finally been laid bare, and the details of drug paraphenalia amidst the minuatae of the diva's final hours are simply hearbreaking. 

According the final autopsy report, there was a 'spoon with a white crystal-like substance on it' and a 'white powdery substance' which was later tested and determined to be cocaine in the late singer's hotel room. 

A squallid end: The coroner's report details that Whitney's room was littered with drugs 

The report , which gives a detailed description of the state of the Beverly Hilton hotel room when officials arrived reads: 'Located on the south portion of the counter was a small spoon with a white crystal-like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper, along with other miscellaneous items.'

'Located in the top drawer, in the north side of the counter were remnants of a white powdery substance, and a portable mirror on a base.' 

Officials found more white powder on the base of the mirror.

According to TMZ, The report also says: '[Whitney] possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications and alcohol.'

Whitney's body was discovered face down in the bath tub with a 'bloody purge coming from her nose.' 

Officials insist there were absolutely no signs of foul play. 

They do note that the water in the bath were Whitney was found, with some evidence of trauma including a cut lip, was 'extremely hot.'

The I Will Always Love You singer was pronounced dead at quarter to four in the afteroon but almost six hours later at twenty-five ten at night, the temperature in the bathtub was still 93.5 degrees.  

Not suprisingly, the beloved performer, who was due to attend her mentor Clive Davis' Grammy Party at the same hotel that night, had scald marks on her back. 

She had two superficial abrasions on the left side of her forehead and one on the bridge of her nose.

The level of Whitney's drug abuse was was evident due to a 'perforation of posterior nasal septum.'

The report also notes that when officials discovered the body, Whitney was wearing a brown wig 'tightly attached to the hair.'

Houston also had traces of marijuana in her system as well as Xanax (anxiety medication), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Benadryl (allergy medication). 

The report also describes a plastic bag ripped open with pills spilling out, medication bottles and an ashtray with cigarette butts all over the place.

When the 48-year-old singer's official cause of death was released in March her heart disease was mentioned, but the new detailed report also cites that hole in her septum and that she was suffering from mild emphysema.

Kristy McCracken of the Bevely Hills Police Department also noticed an old needle puncture wound on Houston's inner left elbow. 

On the day she died, Whitney Houston complained of a sore throat, so she decided to take a bath in at her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton before getting ready for Clive's party. 

Sad details: The report mentioned that Whitney had benign tumours in her uterus

Secene: Whitney was found in her bathtub in the Wilshire Tower at the exclusive Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11

The singer's assistant left Houston to run an errand at Nieman Marcus.

When the assistant returned to the singer's room around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 11, Houston was lying face down in the bathtub in approximately 13-inches of water.
