MAN CTY CELEBRATE........

Man City stars paint the town blue with title party after epic triumph... and Kompany says hangover was worth it

Manchester City's players hit the town on Sunday night after their dramatic last-gasp win over Queens Park Rangers earned them their first top-flight title in 44 years.
Roberto Mancini joined his playing squad after Sergio Aguero's injury-time strike saw the Blues pip rivals Manchester United to the title on goal difference during a dramatic final day in the Barclays Premier League.

Joleon Lescott wore his winners medal around his neck and team-mates Owen Hargreaves - formerly of United - and Stuart Taylor could not be stopped celebrating, despite the fact they amassed just one Premier League appearance between them this season.
City captain Vincent Kompany posed with life-long supporters' Liam Gallagher and Ricky Hatton while Gareth Barry was greeted by a man wearing a Bo Selecta mask as he sat in a bar.
But he won't have minded after City triumphed on probably the most dramatic day in Premier League history.
Kompany admitted it had been a late night as he struggled to cope with his hangover.
He said: 'Struggling to remember what happened last night. Woke up with a medal around my neck. Been told the party was deeecent. Memo to myself: Next time you're Champion, drink less, dance more.'
In reply, Gael Clichy wrote: 'I'm feeling FRESH!!!!! What a night.'

Mario Balotelli, who came on as a second-half substitute in yesterday's win, was snapped away from the City squad, instead dining at his favourite haunt San Carlo restaurant, where he was said to have been given a standing ovation.
But the greeting wasn't enough to muster a smile from the Italian striker, who appeared somewhat dejected despite the incredible final-day result.
City's win, their sixth in a row, completed a remarkable turnaround for the club after they had trailed United by eight points just last month.
Yaya Toure, one of the inspirations behind City’s first title win in 44 years, already has his sights set on winning more silverware next season.
The midfielder told City TV: 'We have been unbelievable. I thank all but I think next year will be more and I hope City will become a great club in the world.

'I will think about the new season and I hope it will be more exciting than the last one. I think the fans may enjoy it more because now we have fantastic players, they are growing. They have fantastic talent and I think next year we will get more cups than this year.
'It was unbelievable. When we had 10 minutes left I was thinking we needed a goal to try to help us. With all this season, always doing well, to have lost the Premier League at home - it would have been a disaster, I think I can say that.
'I am very happy. I think the team deserves it, the fans deserve it, the boss deserves it. I think all this club deserves it this year.

'That was the character of the team, the winning mentality. The team did fantastically well. We proved all the players on the pitch wanted to fight for this club, to win something for this club, to be part of history for this club.'
With Manchester United winning at Sunderland, the title was heading back to Old Trafford as injury time approached with City still trailing.
Edin Dzeko gave City hope with an equaliser in the second minute of stoppage time before top scorer Sergio Aguero snatched it in the last attack of the game.
Aguero, who finished his first season with City with 30 goals, said: 'The only thing I can say is I am really happy. The truth is we can hardly believe it ourselves.
'We thought the Premier League had gone. Thank God it all worked out for us. We got two goals in five minutes, it was absolutely unbelievable.'

Two of the more controversial figures in City’s season were also thrilled by the outcome.
Carlos Tevez, who infamously missed six months of the campaign over a dispute with the club, said: 'I am very, very happy. The game was out of this world. When you are putting an end to such a long run without winning a title, you are always going to have to do it the hard way.
'It was absolutely incredible. This club have got the players that can win lots of trophies, this is a real big step towards that.'
After returning to the side in the past two months, Tevez recently said he would like to stay at the club despite his attempts in January to engineer a move.
The striker said: 'Let’s hope we can win more and more trophies. I feel very happy at winning this league title.'

Mario Balotelli made his first appearance in six games as he came off the bench with 14 minutes remaining and had a hand in the winner.
The Italian said: 'It was better to win like that than 6-0, when you are sure to win. United have suffered a little bit, it is better for us. When I was on the bench, warming up with Micah (Richards) and they scored their second goal, Micah was upset but I said, "Don’t worry, we will win". That’s what we did. I thought it was really possible. I believed in it and I was right.'
Playmaker David Silva is also hoping the team can move on to greater things next season.
The Spaniard said: 'We made the game very hard for ourselves but we kept battling until the end. We managed to pull it off and I am really happy. This team is just getting better and better and let’s hope next season we’ll be even better.'

The ultimate farewell: Del Piero on target as Serie A champions Juventus end unbeaten

league appearance for Juventus as the newly crowned Serie A champions beat Atalanta 3-1 to become the second Italian side to win the title by going the whole season unbeaten.
Del Piero signed off in style in front of the home fans as he doubled Juventus' lead in the 28th minute to cap a near 20-year career with the Old Lady.
Juventus took the lead in the ninth minute when Marco Borriello forced his way into the area and set up Luca Marrone, who opened the scoring with a powerful right-footed shot.

And Del Piero, who has been at Juventus since 1993, scored his 289th goal for the club shortly before the half hour when he fired home from the edge of the area.
The Juve captain was substituted in the 57th minute to a standing ovation as the players and staff of both teams joined in with the resounding applause for the club icon.
The standing ovation and cheers continued even after Del Piero had left the field and the fomer Italy forward got back off the bench and walked around the pitch saluting the fans and gathering scarves which had been thrown down to him.

The city of Turin was in party mood with hundreds of thousands of fans gathered in the streets as Juventus celebrated its first title in nine years.
Around 5,000 fans welcomed the team bus as it arrived at Juventus Stadium, decorated with three stars as the club still counts the two titles it was stripped of following the 2006 match-fixing scandal.
Antonio Conte's team became only the third side ever to go the entire season without losing a game. Milan also won the title unbeaten in 1992.
Perugia went the entire 1978-79 season without losing a game but didn't win the league.

Atalanta pulled one back eight minutes from time when Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner turned Giacomo Bonaventura's cross into his own net but the home side restored its two-goal advantage in stoppage time after Thomas Manfredini brought down Borriello in the area and Andrea Barzagli fired home the resulting penalty.
The celebrations are set to continue through the night, with an open-topped bus parade planned for this evening.
It was also emotional at San Siro as AC Milan bid farewell to club stalwarts Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso and Filippo Inzaghi as well as Mark van Bommel.

Inzaghi scored to help Milan beat Novara 2-1. However, it was of little importance as Juventus was four points clear heading into the final game of the season and claimed its 28th league title last weekend after beating Cagliari 2-0 while AC Milan lost 4-2 to Inter Milan.
Before the game at Milan, Nesta, Gattuso, Inzaghi and Van Bommel were given a standing ovation as clips of important matches they had played in were shown on the big screen during the warmup and they were individually thanked over the loudspeaker.
It seemed as if Novara was going to ruin their farewells when Santiago Garcia gave it the lead in the 20th minute but Mathieu Flamini leveled 11 minutes after the break and Inzaghi scored the winner eight minutes from time for his 156th Serie A goal in his 300th appearance.
Elsewhere, Fiorentina drew 0-0 at home to Cagliari.
